Privacy policy

Summary

ftw is an Android launcher built to work without advertising, analytics, tracking, or an ftw account. Personal information used by launcher features is processed on your device. ftw does not sell personal information.

This website (ftw.ordinity.com) uses Google Analytics to understand traffic and product interest (for example page views and Play Store clicks). That website analytics is separate from the Android app, which does not include Google Analytics.

Information processed on your device

Depending on the features you enable, ftw may process installed-app information, app usage statistics, contacts, SMS transaction messages, notification content, clipboard entries, Health Connect step counts, alarms, battery state, Bluetooth state, and finance or habit records you enter. This information supports app search, screen-time summaries, contact actions, transaction detection, clipboard history, glance information, workflows, habits, and budgeting.

These features are optional. Their data remains in local app storage or in the folder you select for ftw configuration and finance files. Android system settings can be used to revoke permissions at any time.

Network requests

ftw can access the internet for features you request, including currency conversion rates, webpage titles, web searches, and links opened in external services. Those providers receive the technical information normally sent with an internet request, such as an IP address. Their own privacy policies govern that processing.

Permissions

ftw requests permissions only when needed for a feature. Accessibility access powers optional conveniences: the double-tap-to-lock action, lock and screenshot system commands, and workflows triggered when an app opens; ftw observes only which app comes to the foreground and never reads or stores screen content. Notification access and SMS access support optional on-device transaction detection. Contacts access supports contact search and calling. Usage access supports screen-time information and local app ranking. Health Connect access reads step counts for the glance bar. Overlay, exact alarm, and battery-optimization permissions support reminders, workflows, and the transaction-entry overlay.

Storage, retention, and deletion

ftw stores settings and feature data locally. You control retained files in the root folder you select. You can delete those files, clear the app's storage, or uninstall ftw to remove locally stored data. ftw does not maintain a remote user profile to delete.

Children

ftw is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect children's personal information.

Security and changes

Local processing reduces the amount of information transmitted, but no device or storage method is completely secure. This policy may be updated when ftw's features or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
